Works
 The main works of Fierro, in which the transparency of his language, where he was sometimes simple and sometimes something farfetched, can be clearly emphasized; they are immersed in poetry books; "The Lute in the Valley," published in 1919 and "La Velada Palatina," published and edited in 1949, 20 years after his death. In the same way, these include other of his poems like "Your Hair", "The Children", "Romance of Hunt", and "Dry Leaves".
Your hair
It is about a woman of advanced age, comparing his age with the sadness that he feels. He emphasizes that although this advanced age does not have gray hair. That woman is kind, emotional, transparent in her action, persevering, confident and firm thinking; so the author admires her and loves her a lot by making her feel like a muse.
The author feels that this lady is a base for him, where he is comforted when he feels discouraged; but as soon as he remembers that he can not be reciprocated, he is filled with melancholy.
Children
A pure star in the sky
It is like a tear in our affections,
And in the panorama of my thinking
Revive children's happy poem.

From the figurines copy the way
And they tell tales of deep nostalgia,
And pull the loops: from your hair
A duquesita of those of the Fronde.

And the incroyables of fine rings
And the girls play next to the window.
They have in their eyes the hills
The sad yearning of Sister Ana.

Some advice dies in the memory,
But he brings the baby of our infants
The thin wand of illusory fairy
And he sits in the midst of the supplicants.

HUMBERTO FIERRO Humberto Fierro (Quito, June 17, 1890 - Quito, 1929) 1 was an Ecuadorian poet belonging to the so-called Generation decapitated, composed by several poets of the early twentieth century. Son of a wealthy family made up of Mr. Enrique Fierro Rosero and Mrs. Amalia Jarrín Zapata. He acquired careful education and in the properties of his parents, in Quito and in Miraflores in Cayambe, as a teenager he devoted a lot of time to reading his favorite authors and poets. In it stood out philosophical and scientific readings and especially of the French symbolist poets and Parnassians.
